SPP1530 Workshop on: Floral Transition in Arabidopsis
- Tübingen, September 16-18, 2013 -
==========================================================================================
The induction of flowering is a central event in the life cycle of plants. When timed correctly, it helps ensure reproductive success, and therefore has adaptive value. Because of its importance, flowering is under the control of a complex genetic circuitry that integrates environmental and endogenous signals.
Work conducted in Arabidopsis thaliana has been at the forefront of this exiting field of plant biology. We aim to bring together researchers focusing on this interesting topic to promote scientific exchange on the study of flowering time. The conference will take place at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology in Tübingen from September 16-18, 2013.
We invite abstracts for oral presentations and posters. Session themes will cover the control of flowering time by environmental and endogenous cues, the integration of flowering time signals, and the contribution of natural variation of flowering time control to adaptation and speciation. Additionally, contributions on the role of flowering time genes in species other than Arabidopsis thaliana will also be highly welcomed.
